About Grading

Accurate Grading for Stable Outdoor Landscapes

Every successful landscape project starts with grading. At M&G Landscaping, it is the first thing we look at to control water run-off and provide level areas for usage and functionality. Our grading work is meant to last. Grading does not mean to even out the soil, but rather to make land. When your home is graded properly, it offers protection to the home foundation, prevents soil erosion, removes standing water, and ensures that the lawns, garden beds, patios, and walkways work as they should. Having a keen eye on accuracy and long-term performance, we design landscapes that appear clean, work well, and stand up to the constantly changing weather conditions.

    What We Do

    The Process of Professional Grading

Grading at M&G Landscaping is carefully planned, and professionally done using state of the art equipment.

    Site Evaluation & Planning

We start with the current pitch, soil type, and flow of water. With that in mind and the ultimate goal we determine what the best course of action is.

    Land Assessment

Earthmoving and Shape of the Surface

Soil is moved to eliminate or create pitch as needed. Additional soil, rock, or other material is added to help in the process.

    Precision Leveling

    Drainage Alignment

Grading is also done in connection to the drainage systems that are there or that are intended to be there, so that there is no water pooling and erosion.

    Water Flow Control

    Final Preparation and Compaction

The surface is flattened and cleared to form a stable base on which sod, seed, planting or hardscape can be laid.

    Surface Readiness

    Balanced. Functional. Long-Lasting.

Grading is the Foundation of all Outdoor Projects

Large or small, all outdoor projects from patios to lawn installation start with proper grading work. It is what your base is built on top of. Efficient grading enhances the efficiency of drainage, minimizes service problems, and eliminates inconvenient long-term damage by erosion or intrusion of water. Our group will clarify every step so that you can know how your land is being formed and why it is important.
